S. Denise Jefferson, Founder & CEO

S. Denise Jefferson is a dedicated social work professional and native of Bossier City, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Grambling State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Capella University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) at Capella University, with a research emphasis on domestic violence prevention and holistic healing for men and families.

Since beginning her career in 2013, Denise has served diverse populations across various fields, including mental health, medical social work, school-based support, substance abuse rehabilitation, and domestic violence prevention. She is experienced in assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning, group facilitation, clinical documentation, and program development and evaluation. She is also a trained and certified Duluth Model facilitator and a certified parenting facilitator through the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP). Her approach to therapy is grounded in meeting individuals where they are, offering guidance through a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens.

Throughout her professional journey, Denise has remained deeply committed to addressing domestic violence, particularly among male populations who often carry unhealed trauma. She brings years of experience facilitating evidence-based groups focused on parenting, life skills, anger management, and family healing. Her style—compassionate yet firm—is often described as “ruling with a velvet fist,” ensuring clients are both challenged and supported in their growth.

Denise’s passion led her to establish Good Men Health, LLC in January 2023—an organization devoted to creating safe, inclusive spaces where men can heal, receive help, and become whole. The program combines evidence-based practices, including the Duluth Model, with a vision of restoring families and breaking generational cycles of violence through education, accountability, and support.

Over the years, Denise has served as a volunteer for several impactful organizations, including three years with the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team (D.A.R.T.) in Ruston, Louisiana, the NWLA Reentry Coalition, and the AKAdemy of Pearls. Currently, she gives her time as a youth ministry volunteer at Word of God Ministries, where she pours into the next generation with the same commitment she brings to her professional work. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Denise is the author of Destiny is What You Make It, a memoir and self-help book that encourages readers to confront their pain, reclaim their power, and walk in purpose. She firmly believes in the importance of self-care, community, and faith, and she prioritizes time with her husband, children, and extended family. While she still enjoys the occasional country tune, her heart now leans more toward contemporary gospel music, reflecting her deepening spiritual journey. Her motto for Good Men Health Co. is Healthy Men. Healthy Families. Healthy Futures. Her life’s philosophy is “Always operate in love.”
